 This, as they say, is the one that started it all!   
A blue ribbon winner for the category, and "The People's Choice Award" for
the 2002 National Barbie Doll Collector's Convention!
-- not too shabby for my first convention!

 A vintage beach bus was completely reworked and repainted to create the
Mystery Machine.  An assortment of dolls were repainted and re-costumed in
hand-made outfits to become those famous "meddling kids."    The backgrounds
were all done in layers of black foam core,  then painted and outlined to look as
"cartoony" as possible!
