...Imagine a grand ball held on a moonlit night. The clear dark sky is alive
with stars, and the music of the gentle waltz softly cascades into the garden.
It is a perfect night, and as the moonlight dances across the bead work of
your gown, the mysterious stranger you've been dancing with leans in for a
midnight kiss....
"Des Etoiles" is a sumptuous confection of silk and crystal. The daring
sweetheart bodice leads the eye down to the dropped waist, where a sash
of shimmering chiffon is punctuated with heavily encrusted crystal brooches.
The full ball gown is comprised of yards of raw-edged layers of
pewter-colored silk and silver dotted chiffon. Hand-sewn miniature mirrored
sequins, Swarovski rhinestones, and two tones of smoky-colored
Swarovski crystals float effortlessly over each of the layers, sparkling like
miniature constellations across the night sky.
The cool, night-sky colors of the gown play beautifully against the warmer
tones of the doll. Her warm, bronze hair has been swept up into a complex
chignon, accented with smoky-crystal brooches. She has been repainted---
her full, deep blues eyes, glance coyly and are accented with crisp black
lashes. Her lips-- ready to be kissed by her prince-- are now a rich vintage
red. The final touch?--- exaggerated chandelier earrings of cascading
chromed crystal, which shimmer and reflect the light as she sways to the
hypnotic music.
